An ancient fisherman’s house inside a village crowned by the ancient city walls : Polignano a Mare. The house is located few meters from a wonderful sea.

“Calumàre” is a maritime term that means lowering the moorings, letting go of the tops slowly and then letting the boat go by the sea. This is the feeling that the dwelling offers its guests : to be in a place where the knots melt, the ties of everyday life become looser and, like a boat, the “noises” of the world move away between the soft blows of the waves.

The ancient house has been carefully restored, respecting its original architecture. The floors have been rebuilt with local stones, the whitewashed walls of bright lime, the niches and the arches left to exalt the grace and harmony of the rooms.

Many of the objects have been made by local artisans, according to the indications of a design aimed at the future but with an ancient heart. The cool atmosphere of “Calumàre”, like the sea breeze blowing lightly through the streets of the village, ensure an elegant, comfortable and glamorous holiday.

The house is on three levels and an equipped terrace is connected through an ancient small stone staircase.
